Taixia Pokidex
Per request of HM, I have taken the basic definitions of the Pokidex, and expounded on certain tidbits from Taixia. Please bare these in mind when deciding on a Pokemon.
Pet is defined as:
Of course all everything said above can be changed if the pokemon is registered to a character's license. Then it can be entered into contests or be trained to be stronger, but they likely will never be as tough as a protector or documented pokemon.
Most people do not do this because it is nonessential, that when an oc registers a pet it becomes solely the responsibility of that oc. If it is sick the character will be held accountable to pay the hospital bills, if it dies from neglect or a bloody demise it will go down in PRDA files, ect; this is sometimes not worth the trouble because the risks outweigh the benefits. (this is because a pet is technically a wild animal until it is registered - weak and not much of a threat)
Pets are illegal to catch with pokeballs, because once caught, a character will have two weeks to register them to a license before the Concealment Crime comes into play.
In Taixia...
Pets are allowed to anyone so long as they are legally obtained, and have been ranked as a 'pet' in the official Pokidex.
--Some key things to remember:
<------>
Protector is defined as:
These pokemon are mostly used by new trainers, as their first partner and charge. They have been rated by the PRDA to be strong enough to protect a human from the natural nuisances of life, examples are: combee, spearow, weedle, paras, spinarak, skorupi, joltik, and durant. These pokemon are not for battle but for protection, distracting those wild or raging pokemon and giving their trainer a chance to run away.
Depending on which pokemon a citizen wants to obtain (let's just say an electric type), you could be talking about a dangers class, tools of the trade course, worst case scenario class, responsibility and power class, and domestic handling course.
"electric"-dangers class: teaches how many amps it takes to spook, render unconscious, paralyze, kill, ect and many other important topics about electric pokemon. tools of the trade course : tools used to help discharge sick electric types, the handiness of rubber gloves, how to makeshift necessities during emergencies, ect. worst case scenario course: what to do when an electric pokemon is out of control, pokemon discharging during thunderstorms, ect. responsibility and power course: every citizens' right to own, consequences of destructive pokemon, average cost of a lawsuit, ect. domestic handling course: psychical experience and tutoring with trained, tamed electric pokemon (yay a field day!).
(of course different continent different rules and the general rule of thumb - ask before do)
In Taixia...
Protector labeled pokemon are only given to youth who are at least 14 years of age, and have taken Pokemon classes in either elementary or junior high. Protector Pokemon are usually the most abundantly seen with trainers around the continent.

Documented Pokemon are as such because of their danger level. These Pokemon are usually evolved forms of protectors. Only those who are at least at a college level of education, with high PBETs and grades, and have taken some form of classes for said Pokemon may legally get one.

- The Taixian Pokidex is subject to changes. Some Pokemon, through roleplays and/or fanfictions, MAY change ratings, however unlikely.
- Please see the Pokidex definitions for an explanation on what is what.
- PBET stands for Pokemon Behavioural Examination Testing. A PBET it much like a SAT for Pokemon. A youth of Taixia will take this test if they wish to excel towards a specific Pokemon that requires some form of documentation.
- Some Pokemon may only be open for royalty, military, or police use only. Consider this carefully.
- ANY trainer caught with a forbidden Pokemon in their possession is warranted for IMMEDIATE arrest. See the Additional Information spoiler's Forbidden section for more information.
Per request of HM, I have taken the basic definitions of the Pokidex, and expounded on certain tidbits from Taixia. Please bare these in mind when deciding on a Pokemon.
Pet is defined as:
- A pokemon companion.
- Cannot be entered in contests or be trained to protect a human.
- Just there for love and affection.
- If one is under the age of 5, pets are not allowed to be 'theirs'. It must be a 'family' pet.
- One must be at least age 8 to legally say they have a pet Pokemon.
- Pets are not allowed to be contained within pokeballs. This is concealment crime, and will result in punishment. The concealment crime comes into affect if the trainer who has put a pet into a pokeball does not register them within two weeks.
<------>
Protector is defined as:
- A defender pokemon.
- Can be entered into contests and can be trained to protect.
- Very popular utmost starting trainer; PRDA releases them to new licensed trainers.
--Some key things to remember:
- Classes for Pokemon are available for all grade levels; a youth must have taken at least two years of Pokemon classes to be qualified for a protector.
- Certain protector Pokemon require good PBETs to be obtained.
- Protectors must be distributed by the PDRA. Illegally garnered Pokemon will be confiscated and punishment will ensue.
<------>
Documented is defined as:
- A powerful ally.
- Can be entered in special contests. Danger rate above average.
- Must have either a college degree or class-course educated certificate to register these pkmn.
In Taixia...
Documented Pokemon are as such because of their danger level. These Pokemon are usually evolved forms of protectors. Only those who are at least at a college level of education, with high PBETs and grades, and have taken some form of classes for said Pokemon may legally get one.
--Some key things to remember:
- One must be at least 18 years of age, with a college degree or class-course credit to obtain these Pokemon.
- Documented Pokemon are not to be confused with highly documented Pokemon. Be sure to double-check.
<------>
Documented (high) is defined as:
- Pokemon used by military and royalty only. It is against the law for an average citizen to obtain one.
(unless of course you get a royal grant from a monarch or a letter from a president)
--Some key things to remember:
- One must be at least 25 years of age, be a part of the military, police, or recevied a royal grant to get one of these Pokemon.
- Any citizen with a highly documented Pokemon and no royal grant will be immediately arrested, and the Pokemon confiscated. Taixia takes Pokemon crimes very seriously.
<------>
Forbidden is defined as:
- Those caught carrying a Forbidden pokemon in a pokeball will be arrested.
Forbidden pokemon were logically rated for their savage tendencies, uncontrollable psychic abilities, or toxic and poisonous tendencies. These pokemon are extremely lethal and it is highly recommended by every government in Pokiere to stay clear. Citizens stay far, faaar away.
--Some key things to remember:
- There are only eight forbidden Pokemon which only royalty can own. It is very difficult for royalty to get these Pokemon, and it requires at least 2 years of classes for them to obtain it.
- If a trainer enters Taixia with a Pokemon forbidden to Taixia, the trainer must be able to present a valid ID and any registered papers which states they are NOT from Taixia, and CAN own said Pokemon. Failure to comply or produce the documents will result in detainment until further approval can be garnered. If no information can be found, the trainer will be forced to leave Taixia, and come back without the forbidden Pokemon.
- Anyone found with a Forbidden Pokemon on Taixia risks having any documents they have revoked. Trainers, its not worth it.
