Opening archive title: NAT-POKE. Files opened.
National Emblem: i52.tinypic.com/2helspe.png
National Pokemon: Altaria -- National Pokemon can change with each successive monarch; Altaria, however, has been the national Pokemon for the past 6 generations. Parliament must agree to the change before it is official.
Opening archive title: GOV. Files opened.
Government System: Constitutional Monarchy. The Parliament of Taixia is not very powerful at all. The monarchy is based on maternal powers; meaning, the Queen is above the King. Taixia’s parliament is, in retrospect, highly influential advisers to her Majesty, but cannot pass laws or such without her consent.
Head of State: Queen Galarae (gal-a-ray-ah)
Religious Authority: Taixia exercises religious freedom; the natives have many ‘gods’.
Opening archive title: ECO. Files opened.
Human development:
Science and technology: Similar to common-day technology. Healthcare is more advanced, however. The most recent 'hip thing' is the video phones (much like the actual Pokemon anime/cartoon) that everyone can easily afford and have in their home. Villages have little to no technological advances (this does not include things such as metal knifes or real ladders or whatever).
Transportation: (See this for main train/boat routes) Cars, bicycles, wagons, and the good old-fashion walking are common modes of transportation. But, because many of the towns and cities are rather spread out amongst the coast line, there are railroads connecting all of them. Of course, boats are a commonplace - aside form the mainland, there is almost no where you can go without seeing a boat at one point or another.
Industry/income: Timber and fisheries are the most abundant source of income for the island. They are constantly bringing and replanting forests, giving a steady surplus of timber. Fisheries are plentiful because of all the ocean surrounding Taixia. There are a few mines that have rather rich amounts of ore/precious metals, however because the mines are few, there is a strict limit to how much can be taken in a year. There has been oil reserves found in the island, but oil is NOT used as an export under any circumstances. The oil is very rare to come by, and therefore is used solely on the island.
Opening archive title: COM-HEAL. File opened.
Health: The life expectancy for a man who lives his entire life in the city is 79 years old. The life expectancy for a woman who lives his entire life in the city is 84 and 1/2 years old. The life expectancy for a man who lives his entire life in the towns is 73 years old. The life expectancy for a woman who lives her entire life in the towns is 68 years old. The life expectancy for a man and woman in villages is anywhere from 55 to 100 years old.
Taixia is a very temperate place to live, but it is not free from viruses and bacteria. Sickness is more rampant in the villages than they are in towns or cities because Taixia is very health-conscious. There have been periods where a mass outbreak of influenza or chicken pox can come out from hibernation. The most common disease that gets at least a reported 1,000 cases per year is Whooping Cough. Doctors cannot really explain why, but within the fall/winter conversion stage of the seasons, Whooping Cough springs back up and comes back hard. It is not common that people die from this disease, but it is not unheard of. If a traveler is showing signs of Whooping Cough while trying to leave the island, they are put into quarantine (Please do not think that this means you MUST get Whooping Cough. This is entirely up to you [the player] whether or not your character contracts it).
There have only been four epidemics every to happen on Taixia within written history. One for Murine Typhus, Cholera, Smallpox, and the worst case which nearly wiped out the entire non-native population, Malaria. The last pandemic (Cholera) happened nearly 70 years ago, and since then, the only cases of any of these disease have been one or two cases of Malaria from the villages. Therefore, the health departments of Taixia have Smallpox, Murine Typhus, and Cholera as 'extinct viruses' (doesn't mean they won't come back).

Human development:
- Infancy: (Newborn to 2 years) Babies are simply babies on Taixia. When a child is of age to walk and talk, they are taught the basics by their parents. What is right, what is wrong; please and thank you; manners, et cetera. The basic numbers and letters may be taught as well.
- Childhood: (3 to 12 years) Children are taught to be self-sufficient as much as possible. At roughly age 7 they are taught tools of the trade; simple house work, yard work, et cetera. This is more commonly done in towns (and always in villages) more than cities. At age 6, children are put into Kindergarten, and continue till age 12 in year 6.
- Adolescence: (13 to 20) Adolescence is a touch-and-go time for many Taixian youth. This is the time where one makes or breaks oneself. Behaviour is HIGHLY influential - teachers always watch their students carefully, and it goes on the permanent transcripts whether a teacher believes a student is fit or not for a Pokemon. Naive, insubordinate youth have a high change of getting low letters, and thus possibly jeopardizing their chances at getting a Pokemon. ALL Taixian schools are required by law to give students an 'aptitude test', to see what job is best suited for them (of course these aren't always right, and therefore are done purely to give youth an idea of what they might look into). Junior High is years 7 & 8; High school is years 9 through 12. All youth are required by law to be at least seventeen years old to graduate.
- Adulthood: (Age 21 till death) How well a youth's adulthood fairs is entirely dependent on their adolescence. Many youth of Taixian live very successful lives; maybe not billionaire-successful, but most Taixians are not without a home and commodities. Because of the aptitude tests giving all four years of high school, and as an entry test when leaving year 8, most adults go on to college and/or jobs that are, or are related to, what the aptitude tests score them for. Not always, but it is common.
