Manabu Murasaki
Name: Manabu Murasaki (“Manabu”, Japanese, means “studious” or “bookish”. “Murasaki”, Japanese, means “purple”.)
Nickname/Alias: Mrs. Murasaki, Mana, Teacher Manabu, Teacher.
Age: 32.
Relatives:
Kaiki Murasaki (Daughter, Hikialani) [Character: profile];
Husband (Dead in car accident, Hikialani);
Father (Died in military, Ilarii);
Younger sister (Suicide, Ilarii);
Mother (Died from cancer, Ilarii).
Hometown: Foreign from Ilarii, currently lives in Hikialani (Will see city later).
Appearance: A woman with light skin, but a bit darker than Kaiki’s. Has purple hair and eyes like her daughter, but the hair is a bit darker. Her hair is long and straight dressed in one semi-high ponytail with two oriental-like “needles” keeping the ponytail, one is just a pencil, and the other has a small pokéball decoration, the sides of the hair seems like going on zigzag-like wavy. Uses a flat white shirt under her oriental cloth, which is colored in redish magenta, with a golden oriental belt. Uses flat purple slacks, on white oriental socks, dark purple oriental sandals.
sprite:
Personality: Manabu is a responsible woman, and a hard worker. Sometimes (Or should I say “almost every time”?) has exaggerated and/or dramatic reactions when something off happens, making her look like someone hysterical and neurotic, and, of course, awfully funny. Is pretty paranoid over some things, specially her daughter’s well-being and safety. Is also a little paranoid over other people, specially from military and even the government. Dear policeman, no matter how right you may be, you aren’t gonna convince her you’re indeed a policeman, or a “good policeman” either, at least not so easily. Despite her paranoia toward others, she's still pretty polite. Feels unable to openly talk to her daughter about her father. Also has total horror of basements and attics due to a childhood trauma, and won’t even dare to open the door of the basement of her own home, not even if you pay her over 9000 in gold. XD
Despite being a teacher, she is a licensed trainer.
Biography: Let’s start from, well, the start, duh. XD
When Manabu was a kid, still living in Ilarii, she dropped a toy ball she was playing with, which rolled and went down stairs into her house’s basement. Willing to get her toy back, Manabu stepped down the stairs, entering the basement. It was dark, nasty-looking, full of spider webs, and old stuff. Manabu wanted to find her toy as fast as possible, so she could leave the basement faster, but… The door closed due to the wind, and it could be opened only by the other side, trapping Manabu inside. I don’t even need to tell you how marking this nasty experience was for her, do I? XD
Since no one was nearby at the moment, no one heard her screams and begs of help, the poor thing stood trapped there for hours, but was freed by her younger sister once she heard Manabu’s voice coming from the basement.
As Manabu grew up, she started to notice the military abuse of power and feel the “mock” for being a girl.
When Manabu was on Elementary school (Around 9 years old), her father, who was 44-45 at the time, got his name picked by the military, and was forced to work on military, and ended up dying. Her mother, who was a regular smoker, turned into a chain smoker after her husband’s death. When Manabu was finishing Secondary School, her young sister committed suicide after her boyfriend dumped her for one of the “popular girls” from school. A time later, when on the end of Manabu’s Public College, her mother died from cancer for smoking so much. Manabu lost ability to trust (Or at least fully trust) militaries, policeman, and governments, or most kind of authorities, always doubting any kindness they may show, claiming that once someone steps into authority status, they get corrupted by the power, totally or partially. Such distrust brought Manabu a paranoia over other people. Since now she had no relatives left, she finished her studies and trainer school, got her starter pokémon, which was a male Cubone, and moved to Hikialani and became a teacher. Later, on her new home, met an architect who had an uncommon bond with pokémon, and married him. Both bough a good house with closed/isolated garden, and a basement, which Manabu would never dare to touch the door knob of its door. Later, Kaiki was born, early showing liking for art. A few years later, Manabu’s husband died due to an car accident committed by a drunk trainer (Dear drivers, when someone tells you to not drink alcohol before driving, LISTEN TO THEM DARNIT), leaving her alone to take care of Kaiki, having to work more as teacher, on morning, afternoon, and night, entrusting her daughter to her starter Cubone while she couldn’t stay with her. Due to her paranoia, she still got Kaiki a pet male Teddiursa on her 7th birthday.
As Kaiki grows, Manabu noticed she had difficult to get along with any human who is a trainer or any one who wants to become a trainer, not to mention she gets frightened/scared by strange adults. Manabu is having difficulties to put Kaiki on school, and saw herself forced to be her daughter’s teacher instead. But she was responsible, and teaches Kaiki as if she was indeed her student, giving her a –F if needed. Due to her paranoia, Manabu got Kaiki to never trust strangers, specially if they claimed to be “friendly policemen” or anything like that. Just don’t talk to strangers, don’t trust strangers, not at first sight. However, Manabu can still cover her paranoia and get along wih other citizens, being polite. So most either don't notice her paranoia, or don't even know she's paranoic.
Skills: Teacher. Is darn good at her job, without being too rigid with her students, she can keep things balanced, and holds a nice relationship with her students, but of course, every class has its devil students. XD
Theatre (?): Most people say she should perform on theatres and such due to her hysterical/dramatic and exaggerated reactions when something off happens.
Broom (): You are a thief, robber, kidnapper, or just someone who entered uninvited? Invaded Manabu’s house? Be ready to get out with lots of broom hits on you till Manabu breaks the broom on you, ha!
Weaknesses: Basements and attics, because of her childhood trauma.
Paranoia and a bit of distrust over authorities, see above.
Exaggeration and hysteria/drama on her reactions on some situations. Dunno if it’s a weakness, but it’s funny. XD
Sometimes worries too much about her daughter.
